Winter Park, Colorado, first
opened its doors for skiing in 1940 - guests then would
pay a mere dollar for a day's worth of fun and a handful
of runs. Times since then have changed dramatically
and Winter Park has grown to over 2,800 acres of land
with 134 designated trails spread across 3 incredibly
beautiful interconnected mountains. Your first time
here you might feel frozen in utter amazement by the
vastness of the surrounding terrain, but after the initial
feeling subsides, you are left standing in some of Colorado's
most exquisite scenery.
Winter Park, a couple hours west
of Denver and north of Interstate 70 over Berthoud Pass,
leaps ahead of the other Colorado ski resorts by receiving
365 inches of snow every ski season, so if the refreshing
coolness of powder is what you seek, then Winter Park
has it. With the variety of terrain that is offered
here, everyone has an area they can enjoy. Beginners
even have the special "Discovery Park" for
learning all the right moves to reach the heights of
bigger and better.
Winter Park is also known for
having excellent facilities and special equipment for
the handicapped, and periodically, conducts promotional
events for the disabled. If you want to experience unbelievable
ski conditions along with superb customer service, all
while being affordable for the whole family, then Winter
Park just may be your spot.
